1Who we are
This policy covers the Snap Page — Screenshot Capture extension for Google Chrome ("Snap Page", "the extension", "we"). Snap Page lets you capture the visible area of a web page, the full scrolling page, a selected area, a single element, or an open popup, and then save the image to your computer or copy it to your clipboard.
2Information we collect
None. Snap Page does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal or sensitive user data. That includes your name, email, location, browsing history, web page content, the screenshots you take, and usage statistics.
The extension has no servers, contains no analytics or advertising code, and does not load code from anywhere outside its own package.
3How screenshots are handled
- A capture happens only when you start one, by clicking a button in the extension popup or pressing one of its keyboard shortcuts, and only on the tab you are viewing.
- The captured image is cropped, stitched and encoded in memory on your device, inside the extension.
- The finished image goes only where you choose: saved through Chrome's downloads to a folder on your computer, copied to your system clipboard, or both.
- Temporary in-memory copies are discarded automatically within 10 minutes. Snap Page keeps no history or copies of your screenshots.
Once a file is saved or copied, it is yours, and what happens to it is up to you and the apps you use.
4Settings stored by the extension
Snap Page remembers your preferences: what to do after a capture, image format and quality, download folder name, whether to show the Save As dialog, and how sticky headers are handled. These are stored with Chrome's chrome.storage.sync. If you have Chrome Sync turned on, Google syncs these settings between your own browsers under Google's Privacy Policy. They contain no personal information, and we never receive them.
5Permissions and why they're needed
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
activeTab | Temporary access to the current tab, granted only when you invoke the extension, so it can capture that tab. |
scripting | Runs the extension's own bundled script in that tab to scroll for full-page capture, show the selection overlay and element picker, and find the open popup. |
downloads | Saves the screenshot to your computer and opens your downloads folder on request. |
clipboardWrite | Copies the screenshot to your clipboard when you choose that option. The clipboard is never read. |
storage | Remembers your settings (see section 4). |
offscreen | Uses a hidden extension page to process images locally, because Chrome's background worker can't do canvas work. |
Snap Page does not request access to all websites, and it cannot read pages in the background.
6Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
Snap Page's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Because no user data is collected, none is transferred to third parties, used for advertising, used to determine creditworthiness or for lending, or used for any purpose other than the extension's single purpose of taking screenshots.
7Children's privacy
Snap Page collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
8Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Any change that would collect data would require a new extension version and would be described here before release.
